A fantastic holiday which combines all the West Coast speciality species together in the one holiday!

Friday mid morning - arrival in Glasgow. You will be picked up and transferred free of charge to the Salen Hotel, Mull. Mull has a worldwide reputation and is widely regarded as a wildlife paradise. Whilst on this wildlife-rich island our main objective is White-tailed Eagle. For those who will see White-tailed Eagles for the first time, it is without doubt a jaw dropping experience! The Sea Eagles, as they are better known are the highlight for many on our trips and Mull has probably the best population of these remarkable raptors. Mull has a fantastic range of species and we expect to see Golden Eagle, Hen Harrier and Short eared Owl. Mull has one of the best and most successful populations of Golden Eagles and we will visit a number of sites to enjoy spectacular views of these wonderful raptors.

Without question our holiday is the closest guarantee you can get. Every holiday has always enjoyed remarkable views of White tailed and Golden Eagle as well as a real Mull speciality...Otter! We specialise in getting you close to these wonderful mammals and getting the views of a lifetime. The supporting pictures tell the tale and you too could be on the shores of a sea loch watching these endearing mammals.

A special part of this holiday is a day trip with our partner Turus Mara. The boat trip to the Treshnish Isles is simply spectacular. The Farne islands are great but the Treshnish takes colony watching with Manx Shearwaters, Common Dolphin, Bottlenoses Dolphins and Basking Sharks to a new level. With Arctic and Great Skuas patrolling the colony cliff tops, packed ledges with Guillemot, Razorbill, Kittiwake and Shag all supported by Twite, Rock Pipit, Raven and Peregrine. However, the star of the trip is one of the first birds you see on the isle of Lunga... Puffins! There’s no doubt, one of the best colonies in the country. All this topped off with a visit to Fingal’s Cave to marvel at the geology and with over an hour on Staffa and two hours on Lunga it is an exceptional day trip.

On returning to the mainland we will disembark at Oban, the gateway to the Hebrides. Here we will enjoy the Black Guillemot colonies along the sea wall and a real photo opportunity for all. We will then make our way to Islay via some of our secret sites for Golden Eagle, Black throated Diver and Osprey before embarking for Islay. En route we will pass through the release site for Britiain’s latest high profile conservation project, the re-introduction of the European Beaver. If you wish, we can spend some time in the area and well, you never know.

Like Mull, Islay has a wonderful reputation and deservedly so. Once on the island we will see Chough and certainly hear Corncrake. However, unlike other companies we will be spending several evenings on Islay and this is the best time to see them. Every effort will be made and we are confident that given the time of year and the opportunities we will see them. The island has a wonderful Hen Harrier and Short eared Owl population and we are sure to enjoy excellent views of both with Common and Atlantic Grey Seals on the shores with migratory summer plumages high arctic waders it proves to be an irresistible combination.  Turnstone, Dunlin, Sanderling and Knot on the shores of white sandy bays and flowering machair expanses is a delight for the senses. With Common, Arctic, Little and Sandwich Terns all fishing the shallows, Islay is simply ...beautiful. A fantastic birding break with distilleries, local craft shops and with so many experiences.

So book your place now and look forward to next year’s holiday.
